Children Now is a research and action organization dedicated to assuring that
children grow up in economically secure families, where parents can go to work
confident that their children are supported by quality health coverage, a positive
media environment, a good early education, and safe, productive things to do after
school. Children Now designs its strategies to improve children's lives while at the
same time helping America build a sustained commitment to putting children first.

Community Resources For Science
This is a local non-profit group that is an active resource guide to science opportunities in the Bay Area. They also help integrate science into Elementary school curriculums, finds and trains local science professionals to to volunteer in the classroom, and finds grant opportunities for teachers. A great organization!

A site created by business and community leaders who understand that the future of California will be determined by the quality of its public schools. Lobbies for education issues in the capital.
Family Education Network
An award-winning site brimming with information on parenting, education, homework help, teacher resources, fun and games, etc. This site's partners are National PTA, National Education Association, American Association of School Administrators, National School Boards Foundation, many others.

A site that lists and evaluates K12 schools, public and private, mostly in the western states.

Making Math Real
A math institute and clinic, founder and director David Berg teaches this program at UC extension in Berkeley and Santa Cruz and has create a model program at Cragmont Elementary. There will be a 2 week summer clinic that will be an intensive adaptation of the model. Click on the link above for more info.
